On Kargadan

I had the pleasure of touring Art Basil Miami with a smart, generous collector whose lovely wife is Iranian. In ancient times, Persia was renowned for it rhytons, ceremonial drinking vessels which incorporated animal iconography. For him, I created this modern-day, bronze rhyton and fittingly named it with the Persian word for rhinoceros: “kargadan.”
